Software Controls Engineer
Location: South Yorkshire
3-month initial contract
Rate: 40.00p/h - £42.50/h DOE (Ltd. Co – Outside IR35)
Plant machinery / Siemens TIA / Allen Bradley / Renewables / Recycling
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client based in South Yorkshire, who are a global leading capital equipment machinery manufacturer. They operate in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke machinery & capital equipment into recycling and metal manufacturing industries. Due to continued projects, they are looking for experienced Software Controls Engineer to join their team on ana contract basis. Initially this contract/project is for 3 months with a likely extension.
For the position of Software Controls Engineer, you will require to conduct the following daily duties:
- Programming & design modifications to Ladder logic
- Working on primarily Siemens TIA Portal, as well as Allen Bradley RS Logix
- Responsible for changing functions on the PLC, ensuring the sequencing of the hydraulics meets requirements
- Ensure Safety controls are correct
- Ensuring the FDS requirements are met to suit the client specification
- Take machine/equipment through inhouse build & Test (FATs)
The successful person will need to have the following attributes:
- Experienced on Siemens TIA portal & Allen Bradley PLCs
- Proven track record of software design & mods, traceability, and design specification documentation (FDS)
- Familiarity with basic machinery and capital equipment
- HNC/HND level electrical/controls/systems Engineering or similar
- Office based, to work closely with internal teams on key projects
