How long have you been a contractor for?
I've been working as a contractor for nine years, completing numerous projects across England.
Why did you decide to go contracting?
Contracting offers greater financial gain and flexibility. Nine years ago, I found myself juggling many aspects of life, and contracting provided me with a better balance between work and home life.
What is it you like about contracting?
Contracting offers a significant degree of freedom and financial gain. You have the flexibility to choose your next contract to align with your lifestyle preferences.
What don’t you like about contracting?
Occasionally, if you're released from a contract abruptly, you may find yourself without work. Since there's no holiday pay in contracting, this means there's no income coming in during such periods.
What is the service that you provide?
I’m a Process/Manufacturing Engineer.
Tell me about the current project you have worked on?
We're currently involved in a project with Aston Martin and Mercedes, ensuring the accuracy of parts and identifying opportunities to enhance the production process.
Why do you think it’s a good idea for companies to use contractors?
They haven't made any commitments from their side, knowing that contractors can start immediately without needing training, allowing them to hit the ground running.
What benefits have your clients seen when using your services as a contractor?
I'm diligent and committed, and they've acknowledged my value and reliability.
How easy is it to run your own business and be a contractor?
I'd rate it an 8 out of 10. Sometimes, as it's your own business, there's administrative work to manage, and it can be tough during periods of no work. However, overall, I love it because it gives me control over my work-life balance.
How long have you contracted via ATA?
I have been contracted through ATA for 8 months.
What is your feedback on the service that ATA provides?
It's a perfect 10 out of 10 for me. They've never missed a payment, and Mo consistently maintains communication. Even if he misses my call, he promptly returns it. I appreciate his honesty, and he diligently follows up on timesheets. It's evident that ATA is a highly professional company.
