We can’t tell you much, but what we can tell you is… How does it work? Transported from the body shop through a conveyor transport system, the cars shell enters the paint department. In the pursuit of outstanding quality, the TMUK paint shop follow a rigorous process to ensure every corolla that leaves the factory, is leaving with a meticulous paint job. To do this, the cars will be cleaned, primed, and sealed before the robots get to work applying the vibrant paint. Each car is painted individually with its designated colour, before being baked at 200 degrees for 20 minutes to increase durability. How does it work? Somewhere in Europe, a customer purchases their brand-new car, this prompts Toyotas Just in time (JIT) manufacturing system to kick in and the smart technology begins to order the parts and materials used to produce the fantastic Corolla. Having made its way to the factory, each car starts its journey in the press shop as a roll of steel. The steel goes through a 4-step process to press, cut, drill, and bend the plates, developing the innovative shape of the vehicle.
