My background in recruitment

I started my recruitment career within the health and social care sector, supplying carers for children and young people in the East Midlands. Having had success in a challenging market, I wanted to try my hand in something with a technical aspect. This is why I chose to pursue a career in engineering recruitment which I've been doing since 2017.

My job at ATA is to help clients to hire Maintenance Engineers and Maintenance Managers for their manufacturing and automated sites. I support both SMEs and blue-chip businesses and have strong relationships with some of the UK's largest construction material groups, logistics companies and food manufacturing groups.

As a consultant, I’m extremely quality driven, with a focus on making my clients recruitment process as streamlined and efficient as possible .I believe in finding the right candidate first time round. I do this by becoming an extension of your business, completing a detailed vacancy raise and taking the time to understand exactly what type of engineer will fit into your department.

Over the years I have had great success in supporting my clients at both a local and national level. In particular I’ve been successful in managing large recruitment projects, where I have effectively supported clients grow their teams from scratch. I’m able to do this by having a sound understanding of market conditions & and by consistently networking with the very best talent around.

The best part of my job

The thing I most enjoy about recruitment is the satisfaction I feel when finding a candidate their perfect role, or when I have helped a client find their perfect candidate after they have failed when using other avenues to find employment/recruit. It is a nice feeling when you hear that you have listened to what they want and have been able to deliver exactly that.

What I do when I'm not in the office

Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with friends and family and can be often found at the local pub socialising or walking my Dalmatians Izzie & Bentley. My main passion is football and I regularly play 6-a-side. However, being an Arsenal fan my weekends are now full of sorrow.

​I also see myself as a bit of DIY king and I enjoy renovating houses. In 2021 I will be moving into my 3rd house in as many years – my ultimate dream would be to self-build a house from scratch. ​
