Due to expansion and increasing workload they are currently looking to recruit for a Mechanical Design Engineer with immediate effect. The Role The systems they manufacture on this site are bespoke standalone, water treatment systems which are incorporated into larger systems including pipework, blowers, control systems and tanks and installed onto the end clients’ sites. The Mechanical Design Engineer will work closely with the senior mechanical engineers in team supporting projects with creating all the mechanical drawings required for projects, this will involve: Creating sheet metal and fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor Fabricated components include brackets, gaskets, steel for skids, piping spools Ensuring all mechanical drawings are formatted correctly in the system. Creating and detailing 2D P&IDs for projects using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor. Creating general arrangement drawings for component manufacture Liaising with suppliers for any drawings needed for bought out items to integrate into CAD models Ensuring all mechanical components are labelled correctly and identifiable in the CAD system Pulling together bill of materials for mechanical components The Person To be successful in the role of Mechanical Design Engineer you will: Experience with 3D modelling for mechanical, sheet metal or fabricated components The company is open to people who have used AutoDesk Inventor, SolidWorks or any other 3D design package. A strong desire and appetite to learn To be able to create 2D manufacturing drawings. Formatting electrical drawings to meet company standards. Ensuring all electrical components are tagged and labelled correctly in the companies CAD systems. Liaising with external suppliers for any external electrical drawings required for projects. Ensuring bought out electrical items are tagged correctly and identifiable in the system. Pulling together bill of material for electrical components for projects The role has the potential in the medium to long term to develop into a full electrical engineer role where you will be involved in conceptual design and electrical calculations for designing systems.
