Role: Maintenance Engineer

The Company
I am currently working with Knapp UK on an exclusive bases at one of the flag ship sites in Castle Donnington for a number Maintenance Engineers. Knapp are a true leader in the world of automation. They are one of the largest systems integrators in the world with over 7000 employees operating in over 60 countries! Knapp are now turning over close to two billion pounds worldwide and their market continues to grow year after year. Knapp UK are forever evolving the way they develop, deliver and support their customers to ensure they fulfill their customers’ demands. They do this through using the latest state of the art technology including OSR shuttle systems, hanging garments, various pick and place robotics and a range of other automation.
On this new site in Castle Donington, since the site opened in 2020 there has been £87 million invested to keep up with the demand of the site, In 2023, there was a large expansion installing some new shuttle systems. With the latest automation and technology the site processes over 120,000 orders a day – the sites aim is to get the unit out of the warehouse 30 minutes after the order, showing how state-of-the art and slick the process is. In a shift team there is a Maintenance Team Leader, Deputy Team leader, a few engineers and a couple of Automation Assistants. Having an Automation Assistant on shift will allow you as an Engineer to look into the Continuous Improvement of the site as this is a big thing for the longevity of the site.
The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer your day to day responsibilities will include:
- Your responsibilities will include reactive and PPM tasks, further to this there are various electrical and mechanical responsibilities.
- You will be looking after their CMMS system which is tablet based with a desktop app if required.
- As part of your role you will be using various state-of-the-art brand new Automated machinery including the likes of: Conveyors, Automated Cranes, Strappers, Shuttled, Box Making Machines, Robotic Systems
The Candidate
I am looking forward to a Maintenance Engineer that:
- I am looking for a competent Engineer for my client that has very good communication skills face-to-face, over the radio and over email.
- You will need a recognised engineering qualification
- You will be joining a team with colleagues from various engineering backgrounds.
- I am looking for someone that will be able to perform in potential high pressure scenarios and work with their team in intense environments.
- We are looking for a engineer that is outgoing with the customer and understands their proposed changes for the better of the company.
