** Skilled Plater **
Location: Sheffield
Contract: 3-Month Temp to Perm
Rate: £16.50-£18.50p/h DOE (37 hours p/w) + Hol. Pay (PAYE/Umbrella)
Overtime Rate Mon-Friday & Saturday x1.5 & Sunday x2
Shift Pattern: 7am-3.30pm Mon-Thur, 7am-12pm Friday
Our client is a leading engineering company that specializes in providing high-quality manufactured solutions, focusing on heavy mechanical, structural, and precision machinery. They offer a range of services, including design, manufacturing, and installation, serving industries such as defence, rail, nuclear, and infrastructure.
As a Plater, you will be required to conduct the following duties:
- Plating and Fabrication: Assemble kits of parts for nuclear and defence applications, fabricating jobs from individual components.
- Clamping and Fixtures: Utilize clamping and jigs fixtures to ensure precise alignment and assembly of parts.
- Pre-formed Parts: Apply pre-formed applicated parts together as per specifications - Flashing / cutting / positioning / tacking up etc
- Defence Component Work: Handle and assemble components with a focus on defence materials, including armour material.
- Overhead Crane Operation: Operate an overhead crane as needed; in-house training available for this task.
- Welding: Perform stitch welding when required; having welding skills is advantageous.
- Reading Drawings: Interpret engineering/fabrication drawings and work independently based on those instructions.
- Working to company H&S & Quality standards
The successful Plater will need to have the following attributes:
- Proficiency in operating a welding machine to tack components together
- NVQ Level 3/time served Plater Preferred, NVQ Level 2 considered
- Skilled in interpreting and working according to fabrication drawings
