    Chris O'Connor
    Head of ATA Projects

    Recruitment Experience
    14 years working exclusively in the UK Infrastructure sector, supporting clients to maximise hiring effectiveness through the provision of recruitment solutions incorporating; headcount planning and forecasting, talent attraction, assessment and selection, 3rd party worker workforce management, legislation change management and process improvement.

    What are your responsibilities?
    I lead ATA’s Projects division which partners with many of the leading engineering and construction contractors, transport operators and asset owners who are tasked with developing the UK’s transport networks and civil infrastructure.

    I am responsible for supporting and developing our fantastic team to provide clients and candidates with a trusted, long term partner in achieving business and career growth.

    What do you get a kick out of in your role?
    The relationships fostered over the years between our team and their clients and candidates have seen many genuine friendships forged. The trust that is regularly placed in our team demonstrates that we have the right people doing the right things to ensure clients and candidates are properly supported time and again.

    Personal Interests
    My days of international travel, jumping from planes and bridges are now but a distant memory. I have become the cliched family man living vicariously through my children, often found on a wet, cold touchline watching both my children play football. That or finding a reason to barbecue an inordinate amount of meat in my smoker.

  • Mark Lamb
    Divisional Manager - Contract

    Recruitment Experience
    I have worked for ATA since 2005, starting as a contract Recruitment Consultant in the rail sector. Over the years I have worked in and managed teams across infrastructure (rail, water, highways, aviation, utilities and energy) and transportation (rolling stock, aerospace) sectors, predominantly in contract.

    What are your responsibilities?
    Currently, I manage the development and growth of the Derby and London contract teams. My role sees me developing client relationships and increasing revenue opportunities across existing and new clients, advising them on our service offering and the latest developments in contract recruitment legislation (i.e. IR35).

    What do you get a kick out of in your role?
    No two days are the same in recruitment, that in itself keeps me motivated, even after 14 years! It drives me to see my teams succeed and develop as individuals. I get a kick out of meeting clients and getting the opportunity to promote what a fantastic business we have.

    Personal Interests
    Road cycling, hockey, ambitious BBQs and generally being outdoors – can you tell I’m Australian? Whether that be up a hill in the lakes, on a beach in Wales or just having a run about with the family. My family are all sports mad, so I love watching them at their respective matches, gala’s or training.

    Managing Consultant

    Recruitment Experience
    I started my recruitment career over four years ago with ATA Recruitment, moving through the ranks to my current position and all I’ve ever known is the rail infrastructure sector, recruiting solely contract staff.

    What are your responsibilities?
    I’m responsible for leading a team of contract Consultants working within rail infrastructure covering the whole of the UK but you could say I get the best of both worlds as I still hold billing responsibilities and work with both clients and candidates.

    What do you get a kick out of in your role?
    There’s very little more rewarding than leading the team on a daily basis: influencing business inputs to ensure maximum outputs from each team member and making a real difference to their careers. It’s a position I’m very proud to hold having started from the bottom so long may it continue!

    Personal Interests
    Given I’m young, wild and free (for now) my dream weekend would be a night out with mates working my way through an A-Z of Gins followed by a couple of days in the countryside, fishing or playing cricket! Anything that gets me out of the house!

    Experience
    My career spans several sectors within operational support and PA-based roles. For the main part, I have worked within a technical and engineering recruitment setting dealing with contracts, payroll, compliance and exec support duties.

    What are your responsibilities?
    I manage the Business Support team overseeing the contractor onboarding process ensuring all are engaged effectively and compliantly, and ultimately paid on their first available payroll. I also provide support to the senior management team throughout the business.

    What do you get a kick out of in your role?
    That one is easy! Problem-solving. Each day brings another challenge whether that be contractual or operational, meeting short deadlines or coordinating training and events. The people at ATA also make the office an enjoyable place to be.

    Personal Interests
    Socialising with friends, music and going to gigs. I have a young son, so a lot of time is also spent having to save practice penalty shots.

    Rachael Bailey-Frost
    Talent Acquisition Manager

    Rachael Bailey-Frost
    I have had a varied career within recruitment, working in internal recruitment, operations, marketing, sales and management. This experience has led me to really add value to the teams across ATA as their Talent Acquisition Manager.

    What are your responsibilities?
    I source, recruit and help develop all the ATA teams across the UK. I am in a very fortunate position; I love what I do as I get to work with everyone across the business, from the consultants to the managers, and business support/marketing teams.

    What do you get a kick out of in your role?
    I genuinely believe in ATA and what we offer, so I love the fact that I can introduce people to this fantastic company! It is amazing seeing people progress and grow and become real experts in their fields, knowing I played a part in their success.

    Personal Interests
    I am currently planning my wedding, so most of my spare time is taken up with this! When I do have free time, I love cooking, socialising (drinking wine), reading, going to gigs and going for nice long walks with my lab/border collie cross, Bennie.

    Recruitment Experience
    I have worked in recruitment for almost 15 years having joined Randstad (formerly Hill McGlynn Trades) as a support administrator and progressing to Branch Support Manager. I joined ATA as Compliance Co-ordinator in 2012 and have since progressed to Compliance & Audit Manager.

    What are your responsibilities?
    I am responsible for supporting the compliance of procedures across ATA as well as management, development and maintenance of the company QMS system, working with the internal business support teams to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, REC standards and the Employment Conduct Regulations. Responsible for Internal and External Audits and corporate memberships. I am the also our CRM Administrator and GDPR Officer for the business.

    What do you get a kick out of in your role?
    Achieving 100% pass for all ISO audits over the last 5 years. I also get a sense of pride from helping colleagues achieve their objectives and understand why certain processes are in place and how these processes can assist them along with using our high compliance as a selling tool to clients.

    Personal Interests
    As a full-time working mum, any free time is usually taken up with attending football for my daughter or police cadets’ commitments for my son. To unwind I enjoy reading true crime novels and watching real crime documentaries with the occasional glass of prosecco

    Marketing Executive

    Experience
    My career began 5 years ago as a Graduate Marketing Assistant and over the years has developed into a more senior role, successfully designing and executing marketing strategies across a number of sectors including gaming and construction. I joined ATA and the engineering recruitment sector in May 2017 and haven’t looked back!

    What are your responsibilities?
    I manage all aspects of marketing within the business across strategy, communications, brand and content. I lead the marketing team in its mission to grow ATA’s online presence and generate more revenue through our digital marketing channels.

    What do you get a kick out of in your role?
    When I joined ATA, I was given the opportunity to lead the marketing strategy and seeing how much we’ve grown as a brand in the past 18 months has been so fulfilling. I get my kicks out of providing great content to our audience and driving marketing leads to the business.

    Personal Interests
    I have a lovely little rescue dog named Ivy that I love to walk and spoil! My boyfriend and I are big Manchester United fans with season tickets and spend most weekends travelling to watch football.
