Graduate Test Engineer – Nights Monday to Thursday
£25-30k OTE Up to £39k incl Shift Allowance + Company Pension + EV Salary Sacrifice Scheme
8:30pm – 6:45am Monday to Wednesday and 8:30pm – 6:35am Thursday

The Company
Our client are part of a world leading test and inspection organisation with some 25,000 strong global presence. The business provides a wide range of bespoke and technical mechanical tests for customers across the automotive, aerospace, medical and many other sectors.
Due to expansion and investment the business is growing their team at their purpose built testing facility in Northamptonshire the company are looking for a Graduate Test Engineer with immediate effect, your role will be to ensure that the tests run smoothly and successfully and are recorded with high levels of accuracy and to correct standards.
The Role
The Graduate Test Engineer will spend the first 2-4 months initially shadowing other Test Engineers across the AM, Day or PM shift before moving onto running the Night shift for the lab.
The site has one of Europe’s largest test chambers for the testing of EV Batteries with range of tests including:
- Climatic
- Vibrations tests
- Salt corrosion
- Shock Testing
The Test Engineer will:
- Receive Kick-Off for testing project from Project manager / Lab supervisor.
- Design instrumentation required and control strategy for each test taking place
- Report testing project status to the Project Manager / Lab supervisor.
- Carry out tests set ups and test execution. (Test technician for support available)
- Creation of test project reports.
- Monitor and identify correct operation of test equipment, cables, and report failures.
- Monitor needs for lab equipment and report to the Laboratory Supervisor for acquisition
Once the Graduate Test Engineer is sufficiently trained, you will move onto the newly set up Night shift.
The Candidate
For this Graduate Test Engineer role the client is looking for:
- A relevant degree within Mechanical Engineering ie Automotive, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineer
- Someone with strong attention to detail
- Someone comfortable working on a night shift as the sole Technician
