Mechanical Draughtsman
AutoCAD & Inventor –Machinery guarding systems
Solid understanding of safety standards (Specially 13857)
Based in Kettering – 6 Month Contract
£35 - £40 per hour, Ltd Company, Outside IR35
The role of Mechanical Draughtsman will involve:
- Creating and upgrading machinery guarding systems
- Drawing up proposals and producing detailed fabrication drawings.
- The role will be 70% spent on site performing surveys and gathering information for documentation.
- Develop and upgrade machinery guarding systems for food and beverage machinery.
- Produce detailed drawings for fabrication, including general assembly and more detailed scaled drawings.
- Create and modify Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Conduct health and safety audits and implement improvements based on findings.
- Collaborate with auditors, referral partners, operators, and business units to develop and refine guarding proposals.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, specifically understanding and applying principles from standard 13857.
- Communicate effectively with operators and engineering teams to ensure the guarding systems meet operational needs.
- Use Inventor for creating 3D models and AutoCAD for 2D drawings as required.
The Mechanical Draughtsman will need to have the following experience:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting
- Experience in machinery guarding and understanding of safety standards (specifically 13857).
- Ability to create detailed fabrication drawings and general assembly drawings.
- Previous experience in the food and beverage industry is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role is preferred
- Open to other industries if they have experience within machinery guarding and pipework
