Role: Operations Manager

Shifts: 4 on 4 off Days and Nights

Location: Sidcup

Salary: £62,000 + 8% Bonus

The Company:

Our client who ATA are proud to be working with are a blue chip FMCG business with operations all around the globe. With turnover in excess of $30bn annually, they can offer incredible stability to a Shift Operations Manager and excellent training and progression opportunities too.

Nearly £40m has been invested into this site in the last 5 years and a further injection of £20m is planned over the coming years aimed at increasing the capacity of production at this facility in South East London. This has been spent on major upgrades to their automation bringing it up to date making the factory a state of the art facility making it a fantastic time to join the business.

The Role:

The Role of Shift Operations Manager will include the following responsibilities:

  • Leading a shift for a specified area of the factory, briefing colleagues on the plans for the day and ensuring that targets are met
  • Four Direct Reports, taking 1-2-1s and appraisals as well as managing holidays, disciplinaries, training and development
  • Driving Continuous Improvement of people on your shift, developing their skills and knowledge
  • Working alongside the Engineering team to plan machine availability ensuring that the production targets will be met
  • Working with Recruitment Agencies to ensure that any staffing needs are met within budget
  • Working with key stakeholders across the business, within Operations, Engineering and centralised teams too

The Candidate:

The Right Candidate for the role of Shift Operations Manager will be/have:

  • Experience in a leadership role within a factory environment in Operations
  • Able to work shifts
  • The ability to coach and improve individuals with a proven track record of doing this
  • Leading Project delivery and implementation while influencing key stakeholders within the business
  • Experience building strong relationships with key stakeholders so the site works efficiently
